Despite the previous reviews this kettle is NOT stainless steel. Stainless steel is NOT magnetic and if you leave the inside wet on the bottom it will rust around the edge, another way to tell it is not stainless. It is a nice kettle and does boil fairly fast due to a thin bottom.Just be sure you dry the inside before you put it away.

Does exactly what it should

I have smaller version for $13 from the store - it is brushed (not polished) stainless steel.
Provides really high-end water boiling - no plastic (I really dislike cooking plastic), fast (if you have good stove), has remote shut-off and tea serving capability (ask your wife).
OK, most important - no plastic in or near the water. Cheap, fast, efficient. The whistler works well when there is a lot of water, less when there is only 1 cup.

After returning a few kettles (Higher priced and Brand names) I bought this one. I love it. I can now have boiling water and a reminder that I put the kettle on to boil :)
The whistle is nice and loud and it boils very quicky! Happy to have found ths one!

Q: Does the handle stay upright when pouring or does it tend to slip to the side? I am concerned that there is a hazard for burning the person pouring
