10 speeds are all rather high speed

Even 1st speed won't go slow to fold in ingredients. Speed 1 is still really fast, ugh! After the fact I find that the Breville's and Kitchen Aids are must more variable in their speeds (at least the models I could touch)... taking this Paderno back. Too bad 'cause it looks good and otherwise has a bunch of power.

Dangerous, Do not buy, this should be recalled!

Beater wire separated while in use! broke after three uses. No receipt as this was a gift last christmas. Dangerous. Design flaw, poor construction. Paderno won't honor the warranty without a receipt. Based on the number of reviews here and on paderno's site addressing the same issue, this model is flawed and should be recalled. If this machine is used at high speed and the wires come off like that, someone could be hurt.

No, I do not recommend this product.
