How do I know what paint roller to buy?

Standard lint-free rollers are the best for most interior painting, but if you plan on doing a wide range of painting an exterior/interior roller set can be helpful. Foam rollers don't last as long as traditional fabric rollers, and don't provide great coverage on uneven surfaces.

How many paint rollers do I need?

If you're only painting one room and one colour, one or two rollers will likely be enough. If you paint often, work with many colours, or have a big project, you may want many rollers in a variety of sizes. Fibre paint rollers can last up to 5 projects before they need to be replaced.

Are pads or rollers better for painting?

Using a combination of pads and rollers will let you paint corners effectively and walls quickly. Paint pads are best for corners and details, while rollers are the quickest way to paint wide, flat surfaces.

Do paint roller shields work?

Paint roller shields can and do block paint drops, but they should not be used as a replacement for a drop cloth, as they won't prevent all splatter.
