I've cut a few tree branches up to 1.5" in diameter and didn't have any issues. The lopper does the job and I don't have any complaints.

I like these Bypass Loppers

I really like that the handles of these Loppers telescopes longer or shorter (about 8 inches in length each) on the fly with a simple handle button design allowing you to keep working/pruning without stopping. The comfortably shaped non-slip handles works well for my hands, and the telescoping button is right there for my thumbs to firmly depress allowing the handle length adjustment upon need. The gear mechanism makes pruning smooth and easy, and the blade is sharp for that clean cut. Blades wipe clean easily, and the aluminum handle and plastic/rubber grip clean up easy as well. I just need to get a storage hook on the garage wall so I can properly store these Loppers by the hook holes found at the bottom of both handles.

I used the lopper to trim branches for about 1/2 an hour and was pleasantly surprised that my arms were not tired. As a test I opened the jaws as far as they would go and found a branch that diameter to cut off. It cut through it with out any hesitation and did not appear to be over stressing the telescopic handles which I had fully extended.

Q: I have a Yardworks Telescopic Gear Bypass Lopper-Product # 59-6794-6. The thumb adjustment on the handle grip is missing on one side. How do I get a replacement part ?

A: This happened to me too. Fortunately I still had the receipt as it happened only 10 days after I had purchased it. Replacements parts may end-up costing you more unfortunately, that's if you can find them.
