Fits right but needs effort

Was glad I could find this tubeless size (8in rim) for a 35yr old metal wheelbarrow. New tire was squished flat and somewhat deformed when bought; not sure if this was normal as this was the last one the store had. Following some internet advice, I wire-brush cleaned the rim and used dish soap on the tire rim edges. Due to the tire retaining the deformation, it was impossible to catch a seal around the rim; even tried a tightened rope around the tire circumference middle but the inward-collapsed sidewalls would not pop out. Pulled it off the rim and was going to return it but really needed the wheelbarrow so I soaked the tire in a basin of hot water, which released the deformation somewhat. Fashioned a rope loop about 1in less diameter than the tire and worked it onto the circumference in the centre of the tread. Tire buckled a bit here and there but the sidewalls remained popped out. Re-applied dish-soap and got the tire back on the rim (was harder as deformation eased installation). This time the tire rim edges pressed firmly along the rim shoulder, and inflation caught. Once up to pressure, the tire nicely seated to the rim. The whole exercise took over 3 frustrating hours. Would have scored higher if the tire wasn't stored at Can Tire in deformed shape. Hopefully it will last as long as the original; it seems to be constructed heavier.

Q: I have a yardworks wheelbarrow with a bad tire. The dimensions on the tire match this one, 4.00-6, and they have the same tread. Mine has a stem valve sticking out of it but I don't see one in the photo of this tire. Does it come with a valve?

A: It's a tubeless tire without a valve. The dimensions on the tire is 4.00-6.

Q: I currently have a 4.00-6 tire on my wheelbarrow that has a lot of cracks. It looks like this tire should fit the rim, however, i'm not sure whether i need the 13 or 16" diameter. thanks!

A: This tire comes mounted on a rim and it is one unit.The actual tire cannot be removed from its rim . Just measure your wheel diameter to make sure the new one will not hit anything
