I would have given it 5 stars if the handle was metal. I've had these shovels before and it is always the handle that breaks. In fact I returned this shovel and bought a new handle for my old shovel.

Q: I am so disappointed in all the 18 inch Snow Shovels NOT having a steel wear strip. I really Love the vibrant Red color of this Yardworks Snow Shovel, but why on Earth doesn't it have an essential steel wear strip for scooping snow more efficiently?

A: I bought mine BECAUSE IT DOES NOT have a steel edge, so that I don't scrape my new deck. I wanted and was looking for a plastic edge.
