Formulated with CMA (calcium magnesium acetate) for faster and more effective results, while being kinder to surfaces, vegetation, and pets. The ice melter's enhanced formula begins melting immediately when applied to snow and ice, even at temperatures as low as -26 degrees Celsius. The CMA helps it bond to surfaces longer to reduce freeze/thaw cycles while protecting against corrosion. The bright teal colour helps visibility when applying and gauging the rate. Simply reseal the container for easy storage between uses.

I came a week or so prior looking for this to find it didn't "come in" for the $9.00 / bag! It finally came in but the price was $11.00 / bag now! The product works well but they should have offered a "rain check"!

Q: can you explain more on what this statement means? (Less harmful to surfaces, vegetation, and pets) How bad is the for pets? will they die from this? Or be sick? Just want to figure out what a vet bill might be if I use this product.

A: We used this year and our dog got very ill with a high temperature. He did not eat it, however likes to eat snow and was eating it along our walkway which we shovelled after applying this product. Take precautions if you have a dog or cat that likes to eat snow!!

A: I’m not a roofer or roofing expert. I’m thinking you have ice damming & want to get rid of it. I don’t think this is the right product for tha purpose. I would call your local roofing contractor for advice on ice damming & any melter products that would be appropriate.

A: Envirosafe ice melter is safer to use on good quality brick surfaces, as long as used as directed on the packaging. Do not over apply and be sure to remove slush and melted ice to avoid freeze/thaw cycle.

A: I use on a finished cement driveway for about 4 years no pitting and safe on lawns and pets paws. I don’t think should be issue on flagstone.

A: This product is safe to use on good quality, air-entrained concrete, when used as directed. Apply at a rate of 1 lb. to 4.5 lb. per 540 ft², depending on snow and ice levels, and avoid over application and piling. Avoid use of this product or any other ice melter on questionable surfaces and avoid using this product on concrete that is less than 1 year old, has exposed aggregate, has been pre-stressed, chipped, cracked, spalled, or weathered. Poor quality surfaces may not withstand the stress associated with cycles of freezing and thawing that can be accelerated with ice melter use.
