What is in the store is an old model, one that is 36 volts and 8 ft in length, not the 40 volt and 15 ft one that is shown online. A manager checked and confirmed that the online product was not available although it had the same product code as the old saw in the store.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Awesome saw

I used the saw to cut a few high branches around my yard and it worked great. Then a large tree fell from my property into the neighbors property. The tree was hooked on another tree so the top was about 10' in the air. I used the pole saw to limb and cut up most of the tree some pieces were at least 6" around. I have used plug in pole saws before but because I have 5 acres I don't have enough extension cords to do the whole property. This one being cordless I can go anywhere with it and I was really surprised how much power it has.

Yardworks 36V Li-Ion Polesaw is an excellent saw for light to moderate use. Its 10 pound weight and length make it great for clearing out branches. Anyone looking to create a bit more space for a gazebo or a trampoline among the trees, or removing braches getting too close to a home or fence will find the Polesaw will do the job nicely. It is well designed and has easy assembly. It comes apart easily for maintenance such as tightening or sharpening the chain. The battery produces enough power to take care of most limbs, but it may not last a full morning so it might be a good idea for large jobs to have a second battery. My rating would have been excellent had the chain and cutting bar been made from stronger materials. You will likely never see professionals with this machine, but for most casual urban, suburban and cottage users it should do just fine.

Q: The saw is only 8 feet from chain tip to battery. How do you get the 15 feet of reach?

A: The answer from the Canadian Tire team tells how to make the pole shorter not longer. The pole is only 8 feet from chain tip to the bottom of the battery. It is IMPOSSIBLE to reach the 15 feet advertised unless of course you were approximately 7 feet tall. Even then, if you hold the saw safely as indicated in the instructions it would still be very difficult to cut a branch 15 feet above.

Q: where is the isolator key located on page 11 of the manual it says to in sure the isolator key is removed before installing battery pack
