Product Details

Take care of your garden needs with the Yardworks 20V Telescopic Cordless String Grass Trimmer, 12-in. This electric grass trimmer eliminates the need for socket plugs and runs on a reliable 20V max* Lithium-ion battery. Thanks to the powerful battery, you can easily maneuver it anywhere in the yard. The grass trimmer features an automatic line replenishment system that gives you peace of mind if you don't want to manually wind the line. The spool line diameter of this cordless lawn trimmer is 0.065 inches (1.65 mm). For the ease of every user, its telescopic shaft is made of high-quality aluminum and features a height-adjustment locking mechanism. The shaft can be rotated 180 degrees to different angles so that the lawn equipment gets converted to an edger when needed. Its auxiliary handle provides a firm grip during work while the safety guard has two white line guides to indicate the cutting line position. All you need to do is align the two white lines with the edge of your lawn. The flower guard is completely retractable. You can lift the flower guard up when edging and put it down before trimming. The string grass trimmer's 12 inches (30.4 cm) cutting swath is ideal for use in small to medium-sized yards. The edge trimmer weighs 6 lbs (2.7 kg). The package includes (1) 20V battery, (1) charger, and a bonus trim line spool (located on a unit below the handle).

A good buy for the cost at the time.

Bought it on sale 4 years ago and still runs well. This spring I accidentally dropped it and the shield broke into 2 pieces. I am attempting to buy a replacement safety shield but my local CTC store doesn't carry parts other than spool caps and strings for this model. I checked my owner's manual and to my dismay, there are no spare parts # for this trimmer. (Only the battery pack and charger.) I would have been really upset if this had been recently bought at today's cost of $150. Why are there no replacement part numbers? I wouldn't recommend it if we can't buy spare parts. That becomes a wasted purchase if the warranty has expired. The tool is still good, it's the safety part that broke off.

No, I do not recommend this product.

  • A: I’ve moved on and bought a 2 stroke gas unit but I find it funny that no one knows the current draw of this unit. Ah battery rating does not answer the question.

Q: Extension of line if weed waker is not tapa

3 Answers
  • A: Since I began attempting to use the trimmer: (1) the line advances, too far, then jams. (2) and the over-extended line line is not being cut. It is, at least, frustrating. Prior to that, 2-3 years ago, I purchased a "top of the line" 4-cycle, (electric start) trimmer. It too, hangs on our shed wall.

  • A: Put the trimmer on the ground and step on the trimmer head with your left foot and push handle towrad or away from you. OR look in instruction manual on page 12 figures 11 and 12. AND yes it is a cr*p instruction manual.... WARNING keep ypur foot close to the stem or you will probably break the guard cover.
