The telescoping feature is great. Roof rake worked well to keep the edges free of snow to reduce ice damming.

Bonne rigidité du manche. Le manche oval empêche la pelle de tourner dans les tuyaux lorsque qu'ils sont étirés

Long reach

It works well, has a good reach. Would be nice if you could push the snow with it, but the shape doesn't allow. It adjusts easily between the shortest to mid and longest pole lengths. I have the plastic head model, it has an appropriate weight. Seems to be fairly sturdy. Pleased with the purchase.

Q: My extension poles came fully assembled and I can’t get them to come apart so installing the clasp on each extension can’t be done. I installed the first one easily. I can extend each section fully, but they stop at furthest point, not allowing disconnect

  • A: Only one clasp is needed even though there are 3 included. It's not used on the extension pole, It goes into the end of angled shovel post. There is a channel that it slides into. Make sure you have it oriented correctly as the extension pole only has a hole on one side.

Q: Could this be used to remove pine needles from the roof?

2 Answers
  • A: Perhaps, but I have only used it for snow. For pine needles would depend on how  steep the roof is. Try it!

Q: I basically want this to remove leaves & pine needles. I have shingles for a roof but will eventually install a metal one. Is this suitable?

2 Answers
  • A: I suppose it will depend on the design of your metal roof - if the ridges are at least 24" apart then the shovel head will fit between them and should work; but if they are narrower than 24" apart then the shovel head will just slide along the ridges.

Q: Concerned about risk of accidental electrocution. Of course, common sense goes a long way, but does the design incorporate any safety features to help avoid that risk?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello TCKG, The product does not incorporate a safety feature to avoid accidental electrocution. As per safety requirements, a label is provided to inform users of the safety measures when operating the telescopic roof rake. -Garant GP

Q: Can this be safely used on a car roof?

1 Answer
  • A: We generally do not recommend using a poly blade on a roof of a car. It could scratch the paint during use. We do recommend the Garant snow brush line or the Garant Snow Rake. The two links below, the models are telescopic snow brushes with the ability to extend to 52” to 63”. They have a pivoting head to push the snow off the top of the car and have a poly carbonate scaper on the end of them to clear away ice or frost. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/garant-telescopic-scratch-free-snow-brush-52-in-0304462p.html#srp https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/garant-telescopic-eva-snowbrush-63-in-0304467p.html#srp The link below is a multipurpose tool that extends to 76” with no scraper on the end. It has a pivoting head to remove snow from car roofs, hot tubs, car ports etc. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/garant-telescopic-snow-rake-76-in-0591601p.html#srp

Q: Est-ce que je peux me servir de ce grattoir télescopique Yardwork pour déneiger mon abri d'auto. Merci

Translate with Google
1 Answer
We do recommend you use Garant’s snow rake which is specifically designed to clean car ports and other softer surfaces. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/garant-telescopic-snow-rake-76-in-0591601p.html

Q: Is this rake suitable for a raised seam metal roof?

1 Answer
  • A: The product works well on a metal roof. Garant's only concern with using this product would be if you have exposed screws holding the roof down. The blade could catch on the screws creating friction during the snow removal process.
