Needs improvement

Although only two bolts need to be removed to replace tynes, the nuts just turn not coming out. After removing the top, found it full of dry grass. Is this a FIRE hazard?

No, I do not recommend this product.

Died after first season

Did an amazing job the first season. We couldn’t believe the grass that was missed from just raking. I did the side last week ok and went to do the front today and just as we was doing the last piece it died. Complete garbage. I think the design is what made it die so quick. Bad motor that can’t handle the amount of dead grass in my yard.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A good idea, poor execution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the idea of this product, but from the first use it over heats and you have to wait an hour to continue to do the work. The bag holds little and falls off all the time. Should of returned it. I own a worx lawnmover and snowblower and love them. Wish I could get it fixed or exchanged

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What is the model number? This machine does not exist on WORX website for more info

  • A: I contacted the Worx office in the US directly. First response was we don't make a dethatcher. Upon closer viewing, this is exactly the same as the CT brand of equipment, just a different color. The information manual is poor at best, so you had better be a real good troubleshooter as there is nowhere to turn to for help. Writing in here for assistance is not the way to go.

Q: I have a rather large side yard, how many extension cords or feet of extension cords can I add to this?

  • A: Extension cords come in various lengths and wire gauges. Since this is a 12 amp motor, a 50 foot, 14 gauge extension cord will handle this load because it is sized for loads between 10 and 15 amps. If longer lengths are needed, you will have to step up to a 12 gauge extension cord. The reason for this is voltage drop. At 50 feet, a 14 gauge extension cord will deliver adequate voltage to a motor. If the cord length is doubled, the voltage may drop for example from 120V to maybe 90 volts or less. When the voltage drops below an acceptable level, the motor starts drawing more current to compensate. Excessive motor current generates heat within the motor windings and will cause damage or eventual burn out.
