I’m not much of a gardener so don’t judge this product by my word. I got it to hopefully plant some rose cuttings. I read that you can take a small cutting, dip it in this stuff and stick it in the ground and they’ll grow. Well, things didn’t work out that way. Lol. I’m sure it works fine when taking a little more care of the plants...for me This was a roll of the dice to see what happens.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Quite effective

I keep a lot of plants and eventually I need to propagate them via stem cuttings. The product showed itself to be quite effective in helping with callousing the cutting and further root stimulation, helping with the plant's growth and avoiding fungi to take over the cutting. Recommended!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Will freezing the product between usage times extend the product's viability?

    1 Answer
    • A: Wilson ROOTS Liquid Root Stimulatore should be stored in a cool, dry, dark location away from excessive heat, or freezing temperatures. If it was to freeze it can cause the components in the gel to separate.

Q: How do I apply product, do I mix product with water? If I mix, what ratio do I use? Do I apply straight product to stems?

    1 Answer
    • A: When using Wilson ROOTS Liquid Root Stimulator simply dip the cutting about 15 mm into the product. Immediately stick it into a suitable moistened rooting medium like peat moss, vermiculite, perlite, or sand. Hardwood cuttings will benefit by wounding with several shallow cuts through the bark near the base.

Q: is Wilson root stimulator still good to use once it got frozen and then defrozed?

    1 Answer
    • A: Wilson ROOTS Liquid Root Stimulator does have a shelf life. The active ingredient is Indole Butyric Acid which is a naturally derived plant growth hormone that will degrade with time. When the product is new the gel will be a bright blue colour, as the product ages and the pH shifts, the IBA begins to break down, the gel will then begin to change from blue to green and then eventually brownish. Once it has turn to a greeny-brown colour the success rate is reduced. Freezing temeratures should not affect the efficacy of Wilson ROOTS Liquid Root Stimulator.

Q: Water or not to water? The instructions don't state whether to water the cutting after you stick it in substrate or not? It makes sense to water it but afraid I might be washing the stimulator away. ...or should the substrate be wet or dry before?

    1 Answer
    • A: Cuttings should always be placed into a moist growing medium, and should be kept moist at all times until the cuttings root in.
