Lasted a year

Very suprised it only lasted a year and used 5 times. The 100w still works but the 140w does not work. Thankfully the warranty is 5 years.

The best ever soldering gun

I have been a licensed auto mechanic since 1967. I specialized in electrical repair for decades and used the same Weller gun all of that time. I am now retired and still use that same gun these days. I will always recommend to anyone looking to buy a soldering gun the Weller product. It is in my opinion the very best. It never ever let me down.

Q: Does this iron have a flat tip (like a flathead screwdriver) to be used for soldering stained glass products?

A: This product is a soldering gun, not an iron. It is designed to heat quickly in six seconds with a 1:4 duty cycle meaning on for one minute and off for four minutes to cool. It does include a flat smoothing tip which could be used for small repair on stained glass, however, it is not designed for extensive stained glass work. The proper tool for stained glass work is a soldering iron which takes a few minutes to heat up but can be kept on continuously (typically an 80-watt iron with a 3/8” chisel tip) which CTC carries under Mastercraft.

Q: Are the accessories (tips) for the weller universal 100/140 watts sold separately? I have been looking at few CT stores to buy the tips for this soldering gun and could not find any. How can I get accessorie for this item?
