Cracked after 4 months

Installed the bug deflector in the spring, cracked by end of summer. Has a 1 year return warranty... How do you get the 3M tape off if I'm going to replace it? I called weathertech directly and they said - it might remove the paint if I pry it off! Product description here says "virtually indestructible" but the weathertech Rep said they do crack and chip as they are protecting your vehicle from rocks. I don't think this is a manufacturing defect. Not a happy customer.
