We are sorry you are having issues with your Flexio 570. Paint is splattering can cause by the loose connecting nut ( black round connecting nut). Make sure the connecting nut is on tight before spraying.All coatings have different viscosity or thickness. It will vary depending on brand, color, oil or water based materials, paint vs. paint plus primer, etc. There are a few things you can do to the material to ensure it sprays well.
Used a mixer in a drill to ensure the coating is creamy smooth, about 1 min per gallon.
Use a paint strainer from your local home improvement or paint store. Strain the coating before it goes into the sprayer.
Add a flow agent, like Paint Easy by Wagner (this is not a thinner) for water-based coating.
You can thin. Even as little as 5% can make a big difference. Use water for water-based materials and mineral spirits for oil-based materials. Up to 20% is fine.
Keep in mind that you can always test your sprayer with water if you are having issues.

Good Paint Sprayer easy to use

The paint sprayer works well, I sprayed clear coat on a ceiling and black latex paint on another ceiling . Both turned out good. It takes some time to clean it after use but it’s worth the effort to keep it in good condition

Good product but a little trick to use

I think the 3.5 star review is accurate, as this sprayer is a little tricky to get good results. However, with a little patience and trial and error, it works very well. Several reviews mentioned getting paint splatter, which I also got as well the first time I used it. After a little practice I have a couple of tips to prevent this. First, add a little paint conditioner to thicker latex paints. Doesn't take much, way less than the directions say, and then set the paint control on the gun to 7 - 8. Secondly, as soon as you release the trigger wipe the nozzle immediately everytime. The paint will dry instantly from the warm air of the machine and plug up the sprayer causing splatter. I used a microfiber cloth, with one end soaked in water. Wipe the nozzle with the wet end of the cloth, trigger the air (no paint) to cleanse the nozzle, then wipe once more with the wet end, and dry with the other end of the cloth. Works well for me.

Thank you for your review and your tips for others. It does take a little practice to get used to the sprayer which is why we always recommend testing it with water first. Starting with the paint flow lower, depending on the thickness of the coating, and turning it up as needed will help with the control of your pattern and the overspray. WagnerSprayTech

Works good but had alot of overspray

Works pretty good for all paints and solid stains. Has alot of over spray so needed to keep a minimum of 8-10 inch away from areas you don't want painted. Broke on the third use, nozzle for spraying was pouring out paint :/ I even did follow every instruction on cleaning it, so I don't think that was it. But other then that it worked amazing

Thank you for your review. When you spray you can move a little closer, we recommend 6"-8". The closer you are the less overspray. Keep in mind that the closer you are you may have to turn the flow down to compensate for the distance. Anytime you spray you will have overspray. Good first time paint sprayer

Used this to paint some closets in the house, sprays nicely but it’s slightly heavy. Overall it’s easily to use, great customer service and ok to clean.

Q: Will this work for something like coloured Thompson stain- eg. natural cedar where it is paint-like and not thin like the clear coat water protector product but which has no colour.

  • A: I ran an opaque dark brown thompson stain through mine with no issues. Just follow the thinning guidelines provided. And best to do a test spray on cardboard to adjust for rate of application and spray pattern.

  • A: You likely could, however you'd have to fill the paint reservoir up more frequently due to the tilt when directing sprayer at the ceiling. You may also get more overspray using on ceilings compared to on walls. It does work well for cutting in if you are using same colour on your walls and ceiling.

Q: Are the paint canister liners included with a Flexio 2000 (for example) available for purchase separately? These really save clean-up time.

  • A: Save yourself the frustration and don't bother buying this. I bought a brand new one and it worked for about 2 hours and then ruined it when I tried to clean out a clog and wound up getting paint back into the motor. It is really pointless to try to keep anything clean with or without filters. Everything just winds up as a colossal mess. Buy the more expensive Graco or rent a real paint sprayer

  • A: Yes it can spray latex paint right out of the can just make sure to follow the directions on initial set up and adjust the setting from there to achieve the best results. This sprayer gives a roller like texture. If you want a smooth finish go for the 590 with the detail finish nozzle. It also has more pressure settings

Q: Can this or another electric sprayer (from Canadian Tire) be used to spray paint a car, base coat and clear coat??

    A: For painting a car, a Flexio 570 does not have the spark containment needed to spray these high VOC materials such as automotive paint. The Flexio series will spray water-based or oil-based paints or stains. Do not spray or clean with liquids having a flash point of less than 100ºF (38ºC), reference the paint can. Flash point is the temperature at which a fluid can produce enough vapor to ignite.

  • A: Yes you can spray stain with the Wagner Flexio 570. Depending on how thick the stain is you will have to play with the power and material flow settings in order to get a proper spray pattern.
