Good thermometer, horrible app, will be returning.

The thermometer seems to work well, but the app required for phone connectivity is terrible. You're better off paying 1/3 the price for one that doesn't connect to your phone. If you switch apps on your phone, when you switch back the app returns to a home screen requiring you to reconnect to the thermometer before being able to check the temperature. It fails to connect about 40% of the time, which means it can take minutes to be able to see the temperature reading. It's more convenient to not use phone connectivity, which was the whole reason I bought it. The app requires you to share your location data with paderno and third parties. It does not allow you to choose custom temperatures for alerts, only their preset temps. No options to have the alarm go off early for roasts that will continue to rise in temperature after they're taken off the heat.

No, I do not recommend this product.

wireless thermometer

We bought this item to replace the wire type thermometer that came with our stove, that broke. Easy to install app means you can access it on your phone or table. The range is listed as 150 meters ,can definitely vouch for 50 meter range. Solid little product. Also works on the bbq.

App quirky at first

Like some reviews stated, the app was a little tricky at first. It would not connect to the probe, but the base still read the temperature while using it it for the first time. I tried reinstalling the app and it did connect to the probe. The app is user friendly and simple. I like that Paderno is a Canadian company.
