Vida by PADERNO Immersion Hand Blender

I was initially happy of this product - powerful hand blender that doesn’t take up so much space in my kitchen counter. And I thought that it was a good buy even if it’s pricey compare to other food processors. But after a year of using it, I noticed some brown stuff leaking on the cover of the mini food processor. I saw that there were some brown stuff on the white plastic connected to the gear that enables the blade to spin. I tried to clean it but the brown leaks continued. So I disassembled the cover with the intention of cleaning as I was thinking the brown thing maybe from accumulated food bits that got stuck inside. But I was surprised finding that the brown stuff was actually from the rusting screws of the gear assembly. I had to fully disassemble every small parts to remove the rust that accumulated on the plastic parts including the gear cogs as well as the rust on the screws themselves. I thought that Paderno should have used rust-resistant screws since there is a need to wash them after every use. The rust can contaminate the food you put in it to process. This means I would have to occasionally disassemble the mini processor to remove the rust buildup.
