They go off if anything, even a Kleenex falls on them but have yet to catch a mouse. Would not recommend

Placing the trap flush against a wall, reducing airflow or debris around it, and using a small amount of bait pressed firmly onto the pedal can help prevent false triggers and improve results.

Catches mice very well . I smeared a bit of Peanut butter and caught 21 mice over a period of 3-4 days …. I used eight traps placed alone there trail area alone edges .
