Piece of junk

I bought this last year. Worked great until this year when the front wheels would fall when moving the BBQ. Clearly the BBQ is too heavy for the front wheels. The company sent new wheels, but totally impossible to remove the feet and replace the wheels. Then they offered to send new legs. I am certainly not going to take the BBQ apart. I’m a senior citizen and it weighs a ton. Now I have this piece of junk sitting in the middle of my small porch.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the wheels on your cart failed during your second season of use. This is not the experience we want our customers to have!

The smaller wheels on the left side of the cart are attached to black inserts at the bottom of the cart legs. These inserts and the casters are replaceable, so if the metal cart legs themselves are not damaged, the wheels can typically be replaced without replacing the legs.

The larger wheels on the right side of the cart are mounted on a metal axle and can also be replaced independently of the cart legs.

If the cart legs have been damaged and require replacement, please note that your grill is backed by a 15-year warranty and may be eligible for refund/replacement through Canadian Tire. We recommend contacting your local store for assistance.

To request replacement parts, please contact our Customer Care team by phone at 1-844-586-4660 or by email at support@vermontcastingsbarbecue.com. Please have photos of the damage available so our team can determine which replacement parts are required.

Built to last

I was impressed by the built quality of the demo unit on the floor, last one remaining in the store, I purchased it. Furthermore, it had a noticeable discount on it. Also had my father buy one I had to assemble, it took about 2 hours but the steps are clearly illustrated and parts fit perfectly. Tried it the next day, it heats rapidly and it works as fine as it looks. Great purchase.

Q: Assuming it is a normal 25° C ambient temperature, what is the maximum temperature the grill can reach on natural gas with the lid closed?

A: Unable to answer as i use propane..... however before purchase of this unit , which is actually the second one i have bought ( 1 for myself and 1 for my son) we shopped a number number of outlets and look at 10 to 15 BBQ's.... This unit had , in the size chosen , seemed to have the more sturdy build with a thick and heavy lid. In my experience the thicker the material especially in the lid or cover tends to make for more consistent heat and often more heat. We even use the unit in the winter months and it doesn't seem to use a lot more propane to reach cooking temperature plus it hold the temp well. What is key I find is to ensure the cooking grill is clean and the unit is not in the wind or is sheltered from wind. In summary i use propane however feel this unit is good value for the money from a performance prospective ...... the question is will it stand the test of time.

A: The chain is there for an alternative ignition option for you to use with a match, if you ever need to use it. However, the electronic ignition will be your primary source of starting your BBQ.

A: I wrote a positive review a year ago, and after using the BBQ in winter as well as summer, I'm impressed. Not had any of the issues with rain or leaking grease from other reviews, it takes a while to get to temperature in the winter (but that's to be expected) and it's the perfect footprint for our patio. Still looks good too, just a bit of discolouration round the temperature gauge. Five stars!

A: Thanks for the question. You do require the conversion kit in order to convert your barbecue over to natural gas. If and when you do, there are instructions included in your barbecue assembly manual. We hope this helps!

Q: I just bought mine about 3 weeks ago, and used it 4 times so far. I feel I am getting too much orange flame, whether I am on low, medium or high; and it gets very hot even on the lowest setting. Is this normal?
