This quality butcher paper is also excellent for wrapping raw meat or fish for short-term REFRIGERATED storage. It is best used on smokers and pellet grills as it is heat resistant. This Vermont Castings Butcher Paper is non-coated which allows it to be both recyclable and compostable, which makes it more environmentally friendly.

Q: Can you freeze meat in this paper?

A: It’s the same type of paper you get your meat in from a butcher. If you were wrapping meat to freeze I would still maybe put it inside a ziplock bag or wrap it in cling film

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Vermont Castings Butcher Paper is non-coated, which is different from traditional butcher paper on the market. Some contain a wax or Polyethylene coating, which make them unable to be composted. The Vermont Castings butcher paper is both compostable AND recyclable. (Always check with your local recycling guide lines, as recyclable items can differ from location to location.) Hope this helps!
