    Good but not exceptional

I bought 3 (one per floor) because of claims of better performance than standard Ionaization alarms to slow smouldering fires. I would have purchased dual sensor (Ionization and photoelectric) units if this had not been on sale. I am generally satisfied with my purchase. The Good: -Sensitive- we know they work -like the battery backup -The link between multiple hard-wired alrams works - our builder installed hardwired detectors would never trigger the other 2 even though wired corectly. -Hush button works- always silences all 3 connected alarms The Bad: -Too Sensitive- very light smoke in the air from cooking / oven always sets it off - much more so than our prior regular ionization alarms -A little disappointed that the claims of the ability to differentiate between cooking smoke and real fire, did not prove to be true. -"Microprocessor intelligence" is too good to be true. Though generally satisfied, I expect that a photoelectric or dual sensor alarm installed near our kitchen would have fewer nuisance alarms. I will likely buy a dual sensor unit from established brand name next time around.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    So bad it's funny...

After installing this alarm on the first and second floors of our home it has false alarmed at least once everyday, sometimes more. Open the oven, take a shower, look at it the wrong way, it will go off. Got so sick of it going off I took them both down and put them in a bag to return it. Two rooms away door closed and it still went off when I showered! Junk...

No, I do not recommend this product.
