All-wheel drive transmission adapts to mowing conditions, allowing you to switch between front-, rear- or all-wheel drive quickly. Quickly rinse grass clippings under the deck using the deck-wash port after each mow. Powerful mower

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I’ve been using the TB420T XP Self-Propelled Lawn Mower for a while now, and overall it’s been a great addition to my yard tools. The self-propelled feature makes mowing much easier, especially on inclines, and the engine has plenty of power to handle thicker grass without bogging down. The cut is clean and even, and adjusting the height is straightforward.
What kept me from giving it a full 5 stars is that it can feel a bit heavy when maneuvering in tighter spots, and the self-propel speed takes a little getting used to. Also, while it starts reliably, the pull cord requires a bit of effort compared to some other models I’ve tried.
All in all, it’s a reliable, powerful mower that gets the job done well — just with a few minor quirks. I’d definitely recommend it for medium to large lawns.

Really nice self propelled mower! Love it!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I already owned one Troybilt self propelled mower, and because we have a large property, wanted a second. This mower is great! Lots of power, starts first pull and drives really well. The bag is really large so less emptying.

Horrible plastic trash parts, good engine though

Not a year in, 5 total mowings done, has good power that is great now for the garbage plastics they used , front wheels no longer work when pulling the handle the wheels lock and having inspected it there is nothing blocking the wheels from turning if the handle is not depressed, the guard in back to mulch has a broken hinge, the sweep at the bottom of the bag is broken. I can no longer bag the grass clipping because it is much too dangerous to have something potentially fly in my face. So incredibly disappointed. Do not buy if you have a lot of grass to do or are expecting this machine to last you a good couple of years.

Cut 8" grass with ease ,never even slowed the motor down, even going up 25deg slope,
One improvement the grass chute comes off every time it touches something
To solve cut permeter cw and 2nd cut ccw

Q: Does the grass stick to the underside of the mower. My craftsman sucks. And my neighbor bought a cheap one from HH and nothing sticks. Mine I have to pressure wash every time I use it.

A: Kevin, everything about this mower is great, except with what you mentioned. I couldn't agree more with you. I bought this mower 3 years ago as my sons and I mow lawns as a side gig. I have mowed 400-500 lawns with this thing and it is a beast will mow through anything, but like you mentioned, it has to be cleaned underneath almost after every use - Really annoying! I also have a craftsman mower we use and after mowing this one is clogged underneath and the craftsman has nothing.

A: Thank you for your questions. Yes this premium Troy-Bilt XP mower includes everything needed to switch from side-discharge to mulching or bagging effortlessly and without tools. When the drive levers are released the drive disengages allowing 'freewheeling' to pull or push manually.
