Troy-bilt snowblower

I bought this Troy-bilt snow blower in 2023, at Canadian tire. Becsof my carelessness, had a repair and spend $450 for carburetor clean up. This year, Nov 28th, when my son was clearing the snow, within 10 minutes it stopped. No one believes this, the plastic scoop mounted on top of the machine was fell into the auger and it stopped. Finally after my son’s (fifteen years old) continuous effort and with Google help, he took out all pieces. I was very proud of him and wanted to help people, please observe everytime snow blowing. My best advice don’t place it on top where the Troy-bilt recommended. Now we keep it somewhere easy to use.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great SnowBlower

I came from a John Deere 24" which lasted for decades, it still works but its showing its age so I decided to try the newer units. Purchased this 4 years ago and its been working without issues, I added paddles for the heavy sticky stuff and it has never clogged. Only gripe I have is the hand warmers are not very warm, im not sure how warm they are suppose to get but you will never feel them through your gloves and barely feel them with you bare hands. I keep it indoors and in a shed when stored so im not sure why other have had issues with the plastic quality. Mine looks like the day i bought it, starts with 1 pull every time. DO your regular maintenance and wash it down every so often during the season and it should last a very long time.

Excellent Blower

A nice quiet performer with ample power and easy to control in deep snow or not. The governor supplies near instant power even in .deep hard snow. Almost would want more snow just so I can use it. Makes winter even more enjoyable. Another of the many quality Troy-bilt products for the home owner.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very strong and easy to use

We just bought this snow blower and the winter storm came into our town the very same weekend! We prepared the machine as per manual instructions, gas, oil check, etc. Started it to make sure all is well, so we are ready when the snow comes. Very easy! From the first push, the machine started. Today, we had 20 cm of snow and we were ready. It was very exciting. I highly recommend this snow blower, because it is easy to maneuver, it is not loud, and cleans the snow very well! The handles were a bliss, heating my frozen hands. You can definitely feel the pleasant heat. I still felt quite amateur using it, because it was my very first time ever operating such machine, but honestly, I had no issues. I only wish the instructions were more step by step, and would exclude the guessing game. If not for my husband, i would have no idea what and when to press before starting it or after. That would be the only minus for me. The instructions. Please, consider, not everyone is handy or know how to use such machinery. Step by step instructions would help a lot for the rest of us.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Could a woman use this? I'm 5'6 and stronger and way more tough and handy around the house than the average woman. My husband travels a lot. Would I be able to use this in Edmonton's winter weather of late? Or would it be too heavy for me to manage? Thanks!

  • A: It's very easy to use this machine once you get the knack of using the controls. You need little strength as it's self powered and has power steering as a bonus feature. The more you use the easier it gets. Good Luck

Q: what horse power is 208 cc snowthrower

3 Answers
  • A: It is a 7HP, small engines are easy to calculate, since the rpm is 3600rpm on them at full throttle. Large engines are not the same for example 1000cc = 1.0L engine and in a small car you will get 65HP and in a racer (bike) you will get 150HP all because of rpm.

Q: Engine starting in cold weather Does the unit have a block heater?

3 Answers
  • A: No need for an engine heater because it has an electric starter. You just adjust the controls according to the manual, plug it into an AC outlet and crank the electric starter until the engine fires up.

Q: Can you push and pull the machine manually? I have an older snowblower that has no neutral position - you can only turn the wheels when the machine is doing the work for you. Can you manually move this model when it is running and the drive wheels are not engaged?

Q: The engine doesn't run when I turn the choke off. I always have to leave the choke on full or half in order to use it. It worked fine the first time but after that I always had to leave the choke on

2 Answers
  • A: I leave the choke on full and let it warm up for about 3 to 4 minutes then I slowly cut the choke back. If it runs rough once the choke is cut it has not warmed up enough.
