Huge bulb won't fit in many lamps

This bulb is enormous. It wouldn't fit in a desk lamp with a 7-inch harp. Using it in a floor lamp instead but the bulb rises above the top of the lamp shade by about 40 mm.

Light started to flicker on lowest setting after about 3 weeks and totally quit working in less than a month. Returned it to the store and bought a different brand.

Nice light, good life so far (over 1 year)

We have two large floor lamps in our living room and these lights are used often and are frequently turned on and off. Well over a year later they work great and I like the quality of light (meaning brightness and colour). They have a look similar to incandescent. Also the tri-light feature works fairly well. I like the adjustment feature and find it helpful to turn them to low when watching television. I also have another tri-light from another manufacturer that uses two separate spirals to create the two levels of light. It isn't as efficient and doesn't work as well as this one which can create the variation in light intensity with only one spiral. And there is no noise from the ballasts either. With 150w equivalent at full power they give off a lot of light. Would buy them again!

Short lifespan

I have purchase two of these in the last three years. The first one burnt out within a year after limited use. The second one just went at the two year mark. So much for the myth of energy efficiency. Good thing they have a five year warranty.

Not the best, but it works.

Got this 3-way light for a floor lamp. It’s still working fine a year later. However the difference in brightness from the three levels is not very noticeable. I end up switching to the brightest setting most of the time. This bulb takes a second to light up and takes another couple minutes to reach full brightness if it has been left off for a couple hours.
