Sadly, purchased to assist in the burial of a family pet. Smaller sized holes are hard to dig without the right tool. This is almost more of a dirt removing tool than a digging tool, per se, though it does indeed 'dig'. Perhaps if the working end were sharped it would cut into the ground better.

I found this digging tool brand to have a great handle—the grip is comfortable and fits perfectly in my hands, which makes digging much easier. However, the tool itself feels a bit shaky and unstable during use. One concern is that when closing the rod to grab soil, it can snap shut suddenly and has clipped my hands or fingers a few times. Overall, it works for digging, but I would be cautious and recommend wearing gloves to avoid pinching injuries.

I find it works better than an auger. Just need some effort. Works well with a metal bar to loosen clay and rocks. Only issue, does not reach the 3ft depth needed to clear frost depth. Works to about 32in without enlarging hole at the surface.
