    The GPS itself is pretty good. However the maps are not. After updating the maps the gps still doesn't have streets in Calgary that have been there for years and that makes it useless.

    I will enjoy using this product. I bought it online one day as there were only a few left in stock, and picked it up the next at my local store. I did not have the choice to use my debit card so had to use a credit card. I was thus ineligible to receive Canadian tire money even though it said on the website that I would receive it. This is disappointing.

    I really like this GPS! It works great, is small enough to fit in my hand, works well with my phone, and mounts on my car dash. I like the way it looks too. Easy to set up, easy to read, overall a great GPS unit.

    Q: Does this model provide password protection? We very much like this feature on the TomTom XL model that we have. Beside the TomTom XL, we have a previous TomTom model that also has the password protection feature. This is an important security feature should the device fall into the wrong hands.

    • A: Both answers above are incorrect. Older models of TomTom (I have two of them) had this feature. Newer models, such as this one, do not. I have checked with TomTom Customer Service - spoke with an associate named Taylor in Mexico at 866-486-6866 - who confirmed that there is no password protection. I am returning the TomTom device to the store because, like you, I am very security conscious and do not wish the information stored on the device to be easily available if it falls into the wrong hands. I very much like TomTom GPS devices, but will not buy any until they put password protection on them.

    Q: Charging New GPS wont charge, no green light. I checked the connections everything looks fine. Left it in for two hours, and nothing, it wont turn on. I have it plugged into another computer this morning and nothing, am I missing something??
