    Great product

We purchased this product 3 years ago and have nothing but good feedback. It is the best purchase we have made for our new home. Installed in the basement and it keeps the floors nice and warm while not over heating the whole house. Great product.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Just bought this stove yesterday, and I can say the heat output is very good. I also like the DVD that came with the stove, that shows pretty much everything you will need to know for operation, maintenance and repair. I suggest watching the DVD first, and using what you learn from it BEFORE lighting the stove. Several aspects of the stove were not properly set, and if I hadn't watched the DVD first, there would have been problems. I suggest, if possible, to fire this thing for a few hours OUTSIDE before bringing it in and installing it. The protective coatings on the metal burn off and generate quite a bit of smoke and fumes before they are all consumed. I fired mine in the garage with a piece of chimney flue for about an hour and a half on High before installing inside the house. Still had a little bit of smell but no smoke. It says it has an 80 pound hopper, but I can only put about a 40 pound bag and a quarter before it's full. There is no way you are getting 2 bags in this stove at one time. There are some nice features on the stove like swing out side panels and front panel for ease of maintenance. There is ample room to work on the guts of this stove without getting all cut up, so maintenance is fairly easy. On that point, from what I see, you will be doing a lot of maintenance with this stove. I will try different pellets sometime, but the ones I am using now seem to generate quite a bit of Fly Ash. I will likely have to clean this stove every other day. After a few "Start-Stop" cycles, it became evident that the Start Up sequence is slow. Takes 15 to 20 minutes for this thing to get fired up, and another 10 or so before the blower starts pushing heat. But when it is running it is fairly quiet, and with the adjustable blower output speed, it really pushes air. All in all, good stove for what you pay. Time will be the ultimate judge.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I waited for a heating season to rate this stove. I use it 24/7 to heat my 2800 square foot country home. Out of the box the door latch was broken and needed repaired. I'm mechanically inclined so it was not problem however if you are not, you would have had to call the company and have the door replaced under warranty. All of the latches needed to be adjusted for the door, hopper lid and ash pan to seal properly. Again... need to have a mechanical mind and a set of wrenches or stove would not have worked. Stove performance in the following months was poor so took it apart again to find that the glass seals were never installed properly from the factory. Back to Canadian tire for a gasket kit and another afternoon with the stove apart in my shop. In the following weeks the glass broke from the heat and door warping and I'm now trying to have the company replace the door under warranty. Several hours on the phone waiting for customer service followed by an unanswered e-mail to the company and I still don't have a new door. I'm giving this stove 3 out of 5 stars. To be fair...I knew this was a cheap stove and I would eventually have to replace something. Would have rated it a little higher if the company support was faster. If you have tools and your not afraid to use them, this stove will provide good cheap heat. If you need a stove that requires less maintenance then I would look at more expensive models.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Pellet Stove

Very nice stove, I'm looking forward to the cold nights ahead now. Nice design. I enjoy the ash drawer, no more sticking your hand inside the pellet stove to do a cleaning. Pellet Stoves have come along ways since I bought my last one from this company.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

This stove is a great heat source. Cleaner than wood. I liked the looks of it, the heat output/coverage and the price. Have had a pellet stove for almost 20 years now.

    Q: Is the fan quiet?

    • A: Its not whisper quiet but its not too bad. It makes less noise than a window mounted air conditioner. If you can sleep next to one of those you can sleep next to this pellet stove.

    • A: You wil need a pellet stove vent kit. The instructions provided with the stove are excellent, I recommend reading them before you install the stove. It goes over the ways to install the stove with either a 3" or 4" vent system.

Q: why does firebox fill up with pellets and not burn, using same pellets as before

    2 Answers
    • A: Be sure to remove the covers inside the firebox. These are down to the left and right of the burn pot. You will have to remove the two bolts holding them in place. Once removed you need to vacuuum up all of the ash deposit behind them. To do this you will require either a 5/16 wrench or socket wrench. This procedure is covered in you manual under routine maintenance. If this area is not cleaned regularly, it prevents the proper amount of air circulation that it requires to ignite the pellets.

Q: In case of power failure does the pellet stove still function safely without the blower system working?

    2 Answers
    • A: No. It requires a power supply in order to operate. A small generator will be able to provide the required power to operate this unit. Just make sure to follow all of the safety precations regarding the use of a generator. Always install a smoke detector and CO alarm when using any heating unit.

Q: is vent pipe suppose to get to hot to touch

    2 Answers
    • A: The vent pipe will get hot. The higher you are running the stove.... the hotter the pioe will get. Thats why its best to purchase the pellet stove kit. It gives you all of the required material to make it a safe and proper installation. Remember.... always follow the vent manufacture's installation procedure. You will have to make a hole big enough for the provided thimble to work.

Q: Installation Is the installation complicated?

    2 Answers
    • A: The installation is not complicated. Please thoroughly read through the instructions. I recommend going to You Tube and watching a video or two before you decide if this is something you want to tackle or you should have someone more experienced do the installation. Maybe Canadian TIre should look at offering the install to their services provided. Just a thought!
