This locking hitch pin assembly combines an anti-wobble feature with security that ensures your Thule T2, Roadway and Parkway carriers stay firmly attached and safe from potential thieves. It includes a locking cylinder, locking and change key, hitch pin, washers and guide to provide easy installation and locking operation. Simply insert the pin through your Thule carrier and hitch receiver, place the cylinder and turn the key to lock. The cylinder resists wobbling and spinning so the pin holds tight. This locking pin system is compatible with both two-inch and 1.25-inch Thule carriers to suit your hitch needs. Lock Sieze up

Here in South Texas we don't have salt and many issues with corrosive chemicals especially when pulling a 42 foot 5th Wheel. It is apparent the se Thule locks are worthless in getting them off yet your costs of their replacements are excessive. If the were reliable units maybe! Will not recommend friends to purchase these unreliable units.

garbage! lock completely seized up

this thing is garbage, and absolutely NOT worth the money that it costs. every coming winter i would take my thule bike rack off of my car, which meant taking the snug-tite receiver lock off. and every time, without failure, it would take me like 10-15 minutes to get the key to turn enough to release the lock. the thing finally totally seized up and even after several wd-40 applications, this thing is toast. i'm pretty sure i'm going to have to cut the actual pin with some kind of grinder to get off. very frustrating.

I am sorry to hear about your negative experience with the Thule Snug-Tite Receiver Lock. From the description, it sounds like the lock mechanism may have jammed after a season of use on the vehicle. Road grit and the vibrations of constant use can seize the mechanism. WD-40 can also cause further adherence in the system since it is a water displacer not a lubricant. Penetrating lubricant like white lithium grease or spray silicone are generally more useful for loosening stuck locks.

I cannot unlock the hitch lock stl2. Noone in my family can do it either no matter how many youtubes or any other on-line instructions. I need to get the bike rack off of my car. Please help. I am about ready to destroy the bike rack to get it off of my car. Since I could not unlock the hitch, I tried to put the cap back on and cannot get it back on.
