I bought this for a hybrid Supercycle bike that I bought at Canadian Tire. Turns out that it does not fit the hybrids with steel frames.

This sized seat post doesn't fit any standard type bikes. And seems like they only have one size they should stock the size of 1" also for ppl that need it other then that it's a cheap priced part

Save your money

This seat post is NOT 1 1/4" in diameter, as the so-called experts state. It is 1" in diameter. Also, this seat post is NOT compatible with any seat post tube size greater than 27.2mm unless you shim it to your required size. But if you have to do that, then save your money and go purchase a proper seat post.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Due to a manufacturer’s printing error, the correct diameter is actually 1 1/4” (27.2mm). If you purchased this product and found the diameter to be 25.4mm (1”), it is considered to be a defective product. Please return the product to your local Canadian Tire store for a replacement. A: The diameter of this seat post is 27.2mm, which is suitable for seat tube with inner diameter 27.4mm. If the seat tube of Supercycle 1800 is of inner diameter 27.4mm, one can insert 073-7497 into the seat tube and then use a seat post clam to tighten the seat tube and seat post. The 073-7497 will still fit the seat tube with a little big diameter up to 27.6mm by adapting 1-2 pieces of Rubber Pads around the seat post, and then insert the seat post into the seat tube, and tighten it with seat post clamp.

Q: Preload Adjustment The scant instruction sheet makes no reference on how to make the Preload Adjustment. To what rider weight is it factory-adjusted? I'm 170 lbs. Which direction to turn the nut? And by how much?

A: There is an adjustment nut at below of the post, this function is to tighten and loosen the spring inside the post, so you can make the suspension harder or softer. Since the standard preload capacity is ranged from 60kg~90kg (132lbs ~ 198lbs), and 170lbs is within the preload standard range. The alteration of adjustment nut by end users is not recommended. Since 170lbs is within the preload standard range, factory strongly suggested to make no change to the spring tension, and quote from factory “none responsibility from factory shall be valid toward this change by end user”.
