    6" auger sub zero auger

bought this auger , works great , drilled two holes no problem, stood it up against a atv and it fell over on the top knob handle and broke the handle. its made of plastic out in the cold doesn't work. I just want a replacement know for it. can't find one or make one up... should have been made of tougher material or have replacement knobs for it, I will buy 2 at least if avialiable....

No, I do not recommend this product.

I've never used the hand crank part, I bought the electric drill adapter #078-8167-2 and use it on my 18V cordless drill. It's drilled its whole length through the ice every time I've expected it to without problem. I've never needed more than 10 holes drilled through 2 feet of ice and 1 battery has done that with lots of juice to spare.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Not good

Took it out of the box immediately broke the guard off so just used an elastic band to keep it on . First time to the lake drilled two holes, worked pretty good but noticed the handed was bending on the third hole the handed sheered off and had a heck of a time getting the auger out of the ice. Cut my fishing trip short, in my opinion don't buy one, hunk of junk not for a true fisherman will break just a matter of time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy to use, but not powerful

First time for me to use a manual auger and it was easy to cut through the first few inches of ice, but it got more difficult in the deeper layers. It could be my inexperience with it, but I would recommend you 'borrow' one first from a friend and try it out before purchasing a new one.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Which auger extension fits this hand auger? I use mine on a cordless drill with the adapter #078-8167-2 and would like it a bit longer to keep my drill away from the water. I have already bought the green woods brand one Product #077-7400-4 but it's too big.

    • A: Our extension is 12” as well – same length as the Woods™ model.
