A: C'est l'isolation qui est approuvée pour entrer dans le système SuperVent comme une barrière d'isolation entre le support de cheminée pour empêcher l'air froid de pénétrer dans la maison par le support ou le bouclier anti-radiation. Ceci n'est pas approuvé pour toute autre utilisation et ne peut pas être utilisé à l'intérieur d'une cheminée.

Q: what are the dimensions?

A: The vendor does not list dimensions as it is approved only for a specific application. It is approved go inside of their supports, it wraps around our chimney length and is used on the inside of the SuperVent wall shield, attic insulation shield or cathedral ceiling support box. It is big enough to wrap around an 8” chimney length, in the case of 6” you may trim some off.

Q: Similar to Logans question. if this is not ceramic fiber wool(kaowool) but instead Mineral Wool Insulation. what would be the fire temp rating? im looking to build a forge and need to line it with a fiber insulate rated for 2000f +

A: The JM stainless steel, insulated product is rated to 2100 F. I’m unsure what they are burning in the forge (coal and multi fuel (corn, wheat) would not be warrantied).

A: The insulation isn’t ceramic fibre wool. It’s actually Mineral Wool Insulation.

A: The part number 64-4203 is the JUSI – Universal Shielding Insulation. This is an approved and listed item with the chimney system. You cannot use any other insulation material in our supports. The insulation allows you to fill the air cavity between the chimney and the insulation shield which cuts down on cold air infiltration to the house.
