I'm very pleased with this zapper. It has a long charge or just plug in direct. I live in the country, Lots of mosquitos. This is not going to clean up your yard, it will greatly reduce them though. We have grandchildren running in and out, I put it ours in the screened room, It sounded like a popcorn maker! 25 in about 3 minutes! and continued to zap all night. I didn't get bit once. I keep it in our bedroom at night as well. Going to get another one tomorrow.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this does attract phototropic insects, such as mosquitos. Additionally, if you use the octenal lures, that will help attract mosquitos even more to the zapper. Any insect that touches both grids at once will be zapped. Q: does it work while connected to power/cord? or it must be charged and operated in a cordless mode only?

A: It uses a UV light so, no, it wouldn't make much difference having it on during daylight hours. Additionally, most people buy these hoping to kill mosquitoes and other biting insects, which aren't attracted to light. They're attracted by our breath, body warmth, and scent, so these bug zappers are a waste of money. They do kill some beneficial insects that are attracted to light such as moths. Moths are pollinators. With all the bee die-offs, we should protect pollinators. These zappers are bad for the environment.
