Not a "Fan"

Had quite a few problems with the fan. It will not work without the remote. If we turn the light switch off and then on again it will not go on unless we use the remote.
The appearance is pretty good but I found the fan loud and did not do a great job.
For the price there are a lot better fans out there.
No, I do not recommend this product.

FIRST CEILING FAN

I e-mailed Hunter and got instructions on how to install fan to operate from existing light switch and not remote. It should be possible to wire it so that the light works by the switch and the fan by the remote, because now I have to get an extension for the fan chain. Great that this fan uses bulbs with the standard base. The metal rings are thin and bend from the fan's weight making aligning the screws difficult when swinging the fan up after completing the wiring. I don't know if these fans can be balanced perfectly, but I have not been able to get the bottom of the chain to swing less than about 3/8" on high speed. Fan seems to be high quality and looks very nice and is very quiet even at high speed (little wind or motor noise). High speed gives a gentle breeze in an 8 ft high room, don't expect as much output as from a 20" square box fan.

Ne perdez pas le "remote" carcar sans remote l'interupteur mural ou la chaine ne fonctioneras pas donc finni la lumiere. Pas fort pas fort.. Les interupteur 3 voies ca existe ca fait longtemps... Belle mais pas pratique...

Don't install the remote!

Just had the ceiling fan installed on Thursday....and I'm having it re-installed on Monday, minus the remote. The thing is possessed. Lights come on, fan comes on - no need to press a button! It does it all by itself! Kind of creepy, actually. Other than the remote control issue, the fixture is awesome. It looks wonderful and will be great during the summer to keep our room(s) a bit cooler.

Random remote

Fan is awesome! It works great, super quiet and easy to install...however!
The remote is silly...if you use the reciever in it, you can only use it...then you have to change the pull chains as well.
The reciever also has some issues...it randomly turns on the fan/light at the weirdest times( usually when I am sleeping)
Otherwise, great fan, and great support on the hunter end.

A: It comes with the remote control as a bonus but you do not have to install it. In fact, I recommend not installing it because it doesn't work. Well, actually it works but is faulty, because it comes on all by itself! My fan is not the only one with this issue, if you read the reviews. I recommend this fan, just not the remote.
