Bad design

Tape end bracket is too short and hard to catch on material. Very poor design! Try a different brand.

Torn tape can these be refurbished

Use these all the time, have purchase several over the past 10 years... recent one however (6months old) the tape torn, can these be refurbished?

Great tape

Fantastic tape, they hold up very well. Finally need a replacement after almost 3 years due to the coil spring starting to let go. It still has lots of life left in it but i'm picky like that.

I have owned a couple of these now. They get used everyday. The magnet is stronger than the other name brands. Dropped and beat up they keep going. Eventually the wear and tare cause it stop working. Either the tape rips or the winding spring doesn't work as well. The magnet feature for industrial electricians is a must. Can't live without it now.

The magnetic tip can come off the tape at times. Every FATMAX blade handle seems to have the same prongs. If this tape fails after goodlife, take off the magnet! attach it to another tape. 16ft even. I've had three of these over 5 years, and I will only use these. I install steel with a 1/8" variance over 10' by having two reliable tape measures, both are this item. Reliable.
