Seems like a sturdy enough knife, the handle seems somewhat cheaply made but overall for price, can’t complain so far.

I just got this kit today as an early father's day gift, and already, I've taken it into the woods to clear a camping spot I've had my eye on for some time, and is about 20'x20'. Every piece of this kit came with an extremely well made ballistic nylon sheath and the machete and tomahawk came perfectly sharp for practical use. Some people like their bladed tools to be sharp enough to shave right out of the box, but for a machete or axe, which will see plenty of abuse, that is not practical. What you want is a working edge, and SOG delivers in spades. I used the tomahawk to chop through branches 2"-4" thick within just a few swings each without so much as a scratch. The machete cut through all the small brush in minutes. I dug an apx. 3'Lx3W'x10"D fire pit in about 2 minutes with the entrenching tool (shovel), which is extremely tough and can even be converted into a pickaxe. Within no time flat, I had this spot cleared for camping, a fire pit dug, and stacks of firewood and kindling ready, and not a scratch on anything once I cleaned them up after use. This is a great kit for a great price by one of the best names in knives and tools out there, and although they may seem "tactical", these are great tools for bushcraft that won't let you down.
