High Phosphorus

I buy this every year for my garden because of the high phosphorus content which has solved my tomato bottom-rot problem. It is excellent for my lawn too, of course.

  • A: The Scotts Turf Builder Starter Food for New Lawns should be used after laying new sod. It can be applied the same day, if no other fertilizer is being used. It can be reapplied 2-4 weeks after the initial application.

Q: My lawn was sodded last year in july is this the fertilizer I should use on a " new " lawn?

  • A: This product is intended to be used at the time you seed or sod. You would not need to apply it to sod that has been in place longer than a month. After that, you would move to a lawn food for mature grass, like our Turf Builder Lawn Food.
