Good source of nitrogen for your lawn.

5 stars for the balance of instantly available nitrogen and slow release nitrogen for spring lawn greening and growth, and 1 star for environmental impact. So 3 stars is the median. Unfortunately, the slow release nitrogen that feeds the lawn over a period of a few weeks does so by coating the granules with a thin layer of polymer (plastic) that degrades into micro and nanoparticles of plastic over a few weeks and releasing the nitrogen contained. these nanoplastics are easily up taken by grass roots, and accumulate in the leaf tissue itself. If you use the cut grass as a mulch or compost additive for your vegetable garden, they'll work their way into your body - including accumulating in your brain and other organs with currently unknown consequences. Then again, nanoplastics are in the very air we breath whether is product is used or not. I'd just rather risk being too cautious and not exposing my family to one more additional source. Another issue is just nitrogen itself applied on the ground's surface where it's easily washed away by heavy rain onto roadways and into ditches and storm drains, where it invariably affects the watershed, causing eutrophication, turning our favorite fishing spots into an anoxic sludge of a nightmare. Please use this product responsibly.

A: The product advertises that you can let your kids and pets walk on it very soon after the application. As a general rule I try to give it 24-48 hours before I let them walk on it. Give the product a chance to work its way into the ground.

A: While regular lawn fertilizer will not inhibit seed germination, and therefore can technically be applied anytime before or after seeding/sodding the lawn, it also does not help it.
