Works as expected when used as directed

We live in a newer area with a lot of unfinished, weedy yards, and dandelion spread is a real problem. As soon as I see weeds starting to pop up in the spring, I start spot-treating with this spray on a weekly basis. I can't comment on how this would work on very tall, well-established weeds as I never let ours get to that point and it's not what the product was designed for, but it works perfectly for weekly maintenance. Our yard is generally about 99% weed-free with this method. Just make sure your grass has been getting enough water, and don't use when rain is expected with about 4 hours. Spray the center of the weed and the leaves. On a hot, sunny day, they'll turn black and die within several hours, but it may take a couple days in cooler weather. I've been buying the concentrate lately and mixing it in an upside-down spray bottle, as this spray bottle can get finnicky when it's almost empty. That's about my only complaint. The concentrate also works out to be cheaper, anyway.

As many other reviewers have said - this product does not kill dandelions. It may set them back, turn the current leaves black, but ultimately the plant survives. And its currently early spring, the weeds are not hardened by drought - so - supposedly ideal conditions to spray. And the dandelions live on! :(

Dandelions are Smarter

This product eventually kills the dandelion, but the dandelion outsmarts it. While it's dying the dandelion quickly blooms and goes to seed. So you have one dead dandelion and 10,000 new dandelion seeds in your lawn. Using it I found I had more and more dandelions in my lawn.

Q: Can Weed Be Gone used legally in Ontario as Ontario currently has a law forbidding the use of pesticides and herbicides for cosmetic purposes?

A: Yes, we specially developed Scotts EcoSense Weed B Gon after the pesticide ban. The active ingredient in the product, Iron, is not a part of the ban.

A: Yes it can But you mite want to stop to thing about what your going to use your sprayer for the next time. If there is a trace of the chimicals left in the spayer you will be aplying it the next time round and that mite not be to kill weeds that time. arcticbear

A: This product needs to be applied to a dry lawn, when rain is not expected for at least 3 hours after the application. There is no length of time that it has to be dry before applying

Q: Is this product safe to use around wetlands? I have an abundance of dandilions, but also a wetland with frogs and ducks on my property and although I would not apply this product to the wetland, I am concerned about applying close to the wetland and harming the frogs and ducks.
