The 1st purchase i was actually disappointed with, we bought 4 units and 2 of them were missing assembly parts, had to go back to store and get a parts package for 1, and Macgyvered the second one after I opened it and realized it to was missing some parts.

A: You could readily cut a reasonable portion out of the middle shelf to allow broom/mop storage. I cut out 6" deep, 4" wide 3" out from end and it hasn't effected stability in anyway. Did this over 3 years ago,

A: I do not have mine secured to the wall it’s very sturdy! We just keep the heaviest stuff on the bottom shelf. Can’t remember what is on the bottom, but I think there was something there!

Q: When this is assembled, are there any gaps (anywhere, not only where the doors meet) when the unit doors are closed? I am not asking if it is air-tight, but I want to know if there are small gaps, for example, 1/16".

A: I found it difficult to get the inside door leveled, so on my cabinet the doors do have some overlap, but there is a small gap where the top of the inside door doesn't meet the frame.
