Just picked this cabinet up on sale as we needed a little more storage for our kitchen. I am familiar with the Sauder brand but it’s been years since I’ve purchased or built one. I should have remembered how flimsy and thin this brand is. It’s basically compressed saw dust. It looks good but lesson learned, this unit won’t last very long with daily use..
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does this cabinet have to be secured to a wall. I am not allowed to put holes in the wall.

A: A wall support is included in the box however ypu dont necessarily need to anchor it to the wall if you distribute and balance the weight evenly throughout the cabinet. Do not put large bulky items on the top shelf making it top heavy and prone it tipping Otherwise you should ne fine I have three of these in my basement and put heavy stuff on bottom and have tried to balance weight throughout and have never had them even close to tipping over. Nice looking cabinets great for storage

A: It is not quite deep enough for a full size hangar, so the hanging rod would not be a good idea.

Q: Hi in the photos it appears to be oak colour but with a greyish tint but in some customer photos with the reviews it looks more reddish. I definitely don’t want red oak look.

A: I would say yes, with a light sanding and a good primer. Bought this cabinet over a year ago it has held up well but it is made of chip/particle board with a paper finish.
