It’s a good product and I like the matt finish. However, it takes way longer than 4 hours to dry, depending on how thick you put it on. Also, I used 2x more than recommended. However, if I had applied a thinner coat, the coverage would not have been very good

Just keep in mind, the sealer is to be applied in a very thin coat as it was designed to rejuvenate the driveway and protect the pavement from UV rays and gas and oil destruction. We do not recommend applying the product to build up the pavement surface as applying it too thick can result in peeling and indentations from your tires. I was disappointed with this product. I bought it because it claimed to cover 1,000 sq. ft. I had previously used Black Knight Airport Grade 3 Year, and that product is much better and covers a much larger area than Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Asphalt Driveway Sealer Plus (1,000 sq. ft.). In the end, I had to buy more Rust-Oleum to finish the job. It also left far more visible marks than Black Knight, which provides much better coverage.

Q: have 2000 sq ft of driveway and walkway .. how many cans do i need ??

  • A: I just did 900 sqft and it took every bit of 3 full pails, I'd buy 8 pails if I was doing 2000 sqft. My driveway was a typical driveway with asphalt cement erosion, etc. nothing crazy and I spent a lot of time crack filling beforehand. 1 pail does not cover 1500 sq ft, "canadiantireteam" is completely out to lunch.

  • A: There is no expiry date published that I know of, but I suspect it would be fine as long as it wasn’t allowed to freeze. It’s good for 5 years after applying so I expect shef life would be at least that

  • A: it appears to have bonded very well to my previous sealer applied 4 years prior. I pressure washed the surface the night before applying to make sure the surface was very clean.

  • A: My recollection is that you could walk on it in about 3 hours. As fornparking your car it is best to wait 24 hours. Possiblynlinger if you apply in really hot weather, (not recommended).
