I was pleasantly surprised by how far this product went — I only needed two buckets, compared to the three I usually burn through with other driveway sealers. It goes on smooth, spreads easily, and gives a clean, even finish without much effort. It’s rated for up to 5 years, but based on my experience with any sealer, they realistically last 2 years, maybe 3 at best. That’s the main reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. If this one actually holds up for 3 full years, I’d happily bump it to 5 stars. Overall, great coverage, easy application, and a very nice finish — now let’s see how it holds up.

Just finished my driveway with Rust-Oleum Epoxy Shield. Product was easy to use, spread well. My issue was the coverage. My driveway is approx. 3000 sq. ft. It says that a bucket should cover 1000 sq. ft. I needed 8 buckets! Not sure how they do the calculations but it was way off.

Our EpoxyShield Driveway Sealer can up go to 1000 sq. ft., depending on the porosity and condition of the pavement surface. The more porous your driveway is, the more product it will require.   • A: I just did 900 sqft and it took every bit of 3 full pails, I'd buy 8 pails if I was doing 2000 sqft. My driveway was a typical driveway with asphalt cement erosion, etc. nothing crazy and I spent a lot of time crack filling beforehand. 1 pail does not cover 1500 sq ft, "canadiantireteam" is completely out to lunch.

  • A: There is no expiry date published that I know of, but I suspect it would be fine as long as it wasn’t allowed to freeze. It’s good for 5 years after applying so I expect shef life would be at least that

  • A: it appears to have bonded very well to my previous sealer applied 4 years prior. I pressure washed the surface the night before applying to make sure the surface was very clean.

  • A: My recollection is that you could walk on it in about 3 hours. As fornparking your car it is best to wait 24 hours. Possiblynlinger if you apply in really hot weather, (not recommended).
