Rust-Oleum Deck Restore, 14.2-L

I used a ton of this product to repaint my deck. Cleaned it as instructed. After 9 months, large chunks came off. Repaired these areas, but 12 months later same result. I swear they know nothing of Canadian weather. Will have to use a different product next time.

I bought this product about four years ago to protect my deck from the heat of summer and the cold of winter. The advertising and product warranty were excellent at the outset. After the first year (partial summer and a mild winter) there were several spots where the product had cracked and allowed water to get underneath. Big patches were required to get the deck back into shaper. The second summer I experienced the same thing but the product seemed to have changed and I got two years out of the second recovering. The company agreed to GIVE me product if I could identify the "lot" I had purchased - I couldn't. This past winter was a little more harsh and the deck needed to be resurfaced again! My original supplier had discontinued bringing this product into their store as they had too many complaints. I found some at Canadian Tire and have re-applied it to try and get another season out of it. I will likely have to remove the deck cover and replace the deck next year as this product is quite a disappointment. Hard to apply evenly, splatters everywhere and doesn't hold up to any type of weather. It was a bad purchase from the outset.

this is one of the worst paints ever , it took a 5 gallon or 14.2 liters to cover a 14-18 foot deck . it splattered all over the place , and it would not cover any of the cracks or even gaps as little as 1/16 th of an inch . in fact it would not do any of the claims from the manufacturer . save your money and buy any other paint as this one is junk .

Pretty good at small repairs, average quality product.

This restore paint covered flaws as advertised. Although it took twice as much paint to do the square footage that the manufacturer said it would cover. We used the manufacturers roller sleeve.
