Q: Can I use it on car? If so, what are the consequences?
18 years agoA: Remove as much as possible the rust. Wipe clean or spray break cleaner to create a good and clean contact surface. Spray aboundantly the rust converter, allow it to dray till becomes black. Spray paint with a preferably rust paint the matching collor and you will have many years after to enjoy. Q: Can it be used as a cleaner for electrical parts? I have a dirtbike and I'm wondering if I can use it to clean my stater plate and coils
2 years agoA: For about the same price, i use contact cleaner spray can or brake cleaner. Don't forget security googles. ;)

Q: So if I spray this over rust will it prevent the rust from spreading or will it just cover it up?
7 years agoA: It is recommended to remove the flaky rust and then spray with the rust converter. The spray reaction with the reamaining rust will convert the rust into a hard and ready to be painter primer, that will stop the oxigen from furder advancing the rust process. It is the best way to put the fust to rest and prolong the life of the area and saves the breplacement cost.

A: Je ne le recommande pas. Pour enlevé la rouille utilisé l'article 47-5775-6 qui s'installe sur une perceuse. Une fois la rouille disparu appliqué un primer epoxy et ensuite vous pouvez repeindre vos bas de porte sans aucune crainte que la rouille réapparaisse.

Q: Can this be used on a Vespa muffler? How high temperatures can it endure?
2 years agoA: Apply only when air and surface temperatures are between 50-90°F (10-32°C) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that will exceed 200°F (93°C) during use. This product is not recommended for application to muffler or other hot components.

Q: Can i use this product and then primer,sand the primer, and apply color and coat ? it is for the fender of a car. Thanks !
3 years agoA: For a metal fender application, remove all rust mechanically and/or using a rust remover. Then proceed directly with application of your primer, and so on.

Q: After applying rust converter and curing it, can I weld the piece the same way I use to weld other metals?
3 years agoA: Hi Roland, The cured rust converter should be removed from the weld area by abrasion prior to the welding process.

Q: can rust check be used before application of an epoxy filler/ sealer
6 years agoA: Yes. Ensure that the Rust Converter (47-7965) is thoroughly cured (1 to 2 days) before application of the epoxy. Lightly scuff and wipe clean, then apply the epoxy filler.
