    Good air rifle

I got this used from a buddy, scope was way off and seemed liked it hit light, bought a brand new pellet gun close to the same and for this hit harder and once I dialed the scope in was more accurate , use the orange tip pellets for best results, when changing pellets the scope needs to be changed to suit flight of the pellet , great air rifle would buy another in a heart beat , btw don't flinch when you pull the trigger as it will change your hit pattern , very touchy

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Real piece of junk. Shoots a six inch group at 15 yards. Worst trigger action I ever encountered on a gun. Can't even bring myself to sell it used.

Not sure why this is showing up on our reviews as Crosman has no licensing agreement with Ruger and does not produce this rifle. Please check the instructions and forward your comments to the manufacturer of this air rifle.

    defective scope

I purchased the heavy version of the Ruger Black max 3 yrs . ago , Got the scope set up and it was very accurate . I have fired about 30 pellets since new and when I tried to use it last week , There were no more crosshairs in the scope . It was never dropped or mishandled ( I'm a senior ) . When you buy the gun there is a big yellow card attached that reads " DO NOT RETURN THIS PRODUCT TO THE STORE " For service or repair return to manufacturer who is UMAREXUSA in Arkasas USA . They will not respond for problems in Canada " Be Warned " The scope is probably more expensive than the gun .

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Why are all your air rifles below 500 fbs?

    3 Answers
    • A: Air Rifles that are 500 fps and above are legally classified as firearms in Canada and require a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) and not all stores are set up to handle the sale of this type of product. Furthermore, there are a number of Pro Shops (locations found on the website) that are able to sell this firearm and requests to purchase can be made at those stores with the required PAL.

Q: how does the 2 stage trigger work and specs/adjustments available?

    1 Answer
    • A: The 2 stage on this item refers to the two different points of the length of pull for the trigger. The first stage is adjustable for the slack, but the second stage is set and is where the trigger engages to fire. There are no set adjustments as this is all a personal preference for how you set it up. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to shorten the travel of the first stage. Turning counterclockwise will lengthen the pull. Adjusting this screw does not alter the pull weight.
