As such it requires an internet connection which it gets through your phones data. The device itself doesn't present any functions on the Bluetooth link so it must be using a Google API to communicate with the phone. Which is why apple users must install the Google app. Since it doesn't present itself as a Bluetooth audio device your phone's music player can't send its output to the car radio's aux line. For those having issues connecting, check the lights are blue. If they are not push the button until all 4 dots light up and turn blue. It will connect with only 1 phone and must be reset to use with another one. So if you're returning it to the store don't forget to reset it. I give it an average rating because it does work fine but the functionality is dubious when all that's needed is a Bluetooth audio link since the Google assistant resides on your phone anyways.
