Hello Art ok - The RCD11A features a large 4.6-inch digital display with HI/LOW brightness control and a built-in light sensor that automatically adjusts the display in low-light conditions. If the brightness was lower than expected, it may have been operating in its automatic dimming mode or set to the LOW brightness option. This model is designed to be a lightweight, battery-powered clock with time, temperature, and calendar functions, and it uses reduced power illumination to extend battery life.
