    Waste of Money

I bought this and then had it professionally installed. It worked good in the beginning and then it stopped working. I took it back to get re-programmed.. I had to do that two more times and then of course the warranty expired. I had it in again and the mechanic said the circuit board was shot. Barely lasted just over a year.

Q: Is this one way or two way communication? Just wondering if this thing pages back to let you know if the vehicle started or not?

    • A: I installed this unit in my vehicle a year ago and has worked perfectly since, with absolutely no hiccups at all. It has 2 way communication with the remote, when vehicle starts the is an audible beep as well as an icon on the remote lcd screen. I would highly recommend it.

Q: Car Automatically Shuts Off I've installed CT-3471TW on my 1999 Civic. Last year I installed a new car battery and only after that I noticed that once in a while, my car automatically shuts off while I'm driving. Any suggestions?

Q: IT ONLY STARTS WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION. THE STARTER IS ON A 2001 POTIAC MONTANA

    • A: You likely didn't install a by-pass module which simulates you key being in the ignition. All keyswitches are electronically coded. The mudule duplicates the keys code and sends it to the security system. If you have a by-pass module installed it is either faulty or note setup/programmed properly. Most mudules require you ground the brown wire of the module and turn the keyswitch on to the run position while grounding the wire, some modules require you to do the same brown wire with both keys, whils others may require you ground a different color wire for the second key, but you must program both keys if you have two keys.

Q: Is this the same as the other listing? Is this starter the same as Canadian Tires other listing, the "ProStart Six Button Two-Way Starter/Alarm Entry System" which is $100+ more? Thanks, Luke

Q: How do I set the clock on the remote?

    2 Answers
    • A: To set the time, hold the F button until it beeps. the remote will display S01. Press the F button 2 more times. Remote will display S02, then S03. Here's the important bit: When the remote says S03, press and HOLD the F button. Hold that button until the remote beeps again. This will get you into the clock functions. F will move from hour to minute to alarm to timer, and the buttons on the side will adjust each setting. Once the time is set, just leave the fob alone and it will go back to normal mode. After spending a long and frustrating time with the manual, then searching the web, I finally found the answer here, from Fed in Ontario . The manual does say to hold, but somehow it escaped me... Fed's capitalized HOLD got my attention! (Thanks, Fed!) You may have your answer already, dham, but I'm posting it here anyway, verbatim, for others. Cheers!
