Inconsistent, would not buy again

I first purchased this kettle several years ago, while living with several roommates who both loved tea. The kettle worked great for years and was used easily 5 times a day.
When I moved, I bought myself the same kettle since it had proved itself dependable and cheap. This time, the kettle lasted only about 3 months, 1-2 uses a day. The kettle made a popping noise, the 'on' light is permanently on and doesn't boil water anymore. Without the receipt (due to moving) I can't take advantage of the warranty, and will not be buying this kettle again.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I picked this kettle up for half price for my grandmother a few years ago. She uses it multiple times a day, everyday and has no problems with it. It heats up fast, too.

Q: Kettle Question Is it the base that plug into the electrical outlet? The kettle is cordless?

A: Yes the base plugs into the outlet and the flexible cord is easy to put out of the way. The kettle is cordless and is easy to take off and put back on the base. The light makes it easy to determine if it's on... My ONLY complaint is that the water spurts out the sides of the spout if you pour it too fast... BUT the spout itself is actually dripless - if that makes sense!!
