Great butter dish. My only complaint is that the lid is a little awkward to pick up. A little glass knob on top would make the lid easier to handle.

It is not a very good design for a butter dish in Canada, Most of our butter is in one pound block form,not in sticks like it is in the U.S. You have to cut the butter to fit.and the lid does not lift off very easily.

Q: How long does butter stay good on countertop?

A: For long-term storage, it is still safest to store butter wrapped or covered in the refrigerator. How long butter will stay fresh at room temperature depends on how much heat and light it gets and whether it's wrapped/covered. If the temps in your kitchen go much above 70°F/21°C, it's best to leave butter in the fridge. Rancid butter becomes yellow to brown, the flavor becomes harsh/sour and has an off putting smell.
