Q: Does this kettle hold up on a gas stove top

A: i would be careful. the high gloss finish is beautiful and would get ruined if the fire flames extend beyond the base. this is definitely a *nice* kettle not a camping one, in my humble opinion. The silicone and plastic could also get ruined

A: You could, but I recommend using caution, especially when pouring. I prefer an earlier Paderno kettle called "the Mayfield," as it was easier to pour. I prefer the swan spout of the Mayfield to the kettle I have now. I don't care for the spout on this one, as I don't have the same precise control when pouring with this one.

Q: What material is used for the black parts (handle cover, lid handle, and spout cover)? Nylon? Silicon? Plastic?

A: can’t tell you specifically what material is used it is thick, hard, but can be indented with a fingernail and slowly forms back to shape I would not think it’s plastic. My kettle handle has performed well over the last 12 months and would purchase again
